Ministering to Children with Autism and their families.

Two by Two is the name of our Special Needs Ministry. This is a reference to Noah and the Ark; that we are better together and that no one gets left behind. Deltona Lakes Baptist Church embraces the two greatest commandments: Love God and Love People. Mathew 22:37-40
We want to affirm with your child the love of Jesus Christ. Our hope is to mainstream your child in an age appropriate Sunday school class with a “Bible Buddy” when possible. Alternatively we staff a stand alone class room with educational activities.
Our goals for the Ministry are:
1) Place your child in an age appropriate Sunday school class with typical peers. A volunteer or “Bible Buddy” will assist your child while he/she needs it.
2) While your child is in a safe and comfortable environment you will have the opportunity to spend time with other adults in a small group setting.
Bible Buddies are trained by members of our Church that come from special needs educational backgrounds, medical backgrounds, and are parents of autistic and special needs children. We give them knowledge and understanding of some of the struggles, difficulties and fears your child faces everyday, as well as you the parents. Background checks are standard for any members of our Church that have contact with our youth. Our Bible buddies are at least 17 years of age and have been with our Church for at least a year.
You the parents will help train the Bible Buddies until you and they are comfortable. No one knows your child like you do. We need your expertise to help us better serve your child.
The small group adult Bible studies are offered on a variety of topics and age groups. It is a great way to get involved and find fellowship and support.
Worship Service is our time to come together as a Church family, to sing God’s praises, and to hear his word.
Our Prayer is that your entire family can find a home here at Deltona Lakes Baptist Church.
1 John 3:18 “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”
Mark 9:37 "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me."
1 Corinthians 12 The body of Christ is made up of many parts, those parts that at times seem to be the weaker, are indispensable.
